In 1857, Wilmington was the first city in North Carolina to welcome the state’s first YMCA. With a slated fall groundbreaking in Chatham Park, the YMCA will open its tenth Triangle location in just a few years. When the new building is complete, it will feature:
- A Wellness Center with state-of-the-art equipment.
- Multiple exercise studios for group classes.
- An outdoor pool that will host swim lessons, aquatic fitness, and recreational swimming.
- Multiple gymnasiums.
- Open outdoor space for sports and programming.
- Multi-purpose spaces available for community partnerships including wellness-based educational opportunities.
